Sign up to lift in competitions, volunteer at events or register as a weightlifting coach

You do not need to be a member of a weightlifting club to compete, but you must be a QWA member. Only current members are covered by the Australian Weightlifting Federation insurance that covers you in competition and in training.

ATHLETE MEMBERSHIPS

The current yearly membership fees effective 1 January 2025:
  • Seniors/Masters $105
  • Juniors (18 to 20 years) $82
  • Youths (17 years and under); Non athlete and QWA Coach with 5 or more QWA member athletes $51
  • One month trial $51
These rates are for a full 12 month period of membership and include Australian Weightlifting Federation registration and insurance.

COACHING MEMBERSHIPS

The current yearly membership fees are:

  • Coaches $105
  • Coaches with 5 or more QWA-registered lifters $51

TECHNICAL OFFICIAL MEMBERSHIPS

The QWA values the voluntary service provided by Referees,  and only applies a minimum licence fee for members who only officiate, and do not lift or coach.
 
The current yearly membership fees are:
  • Competition Official Non-Lifter/Non-Coach $51
  • Life Member $0
“Referee Only” memberships can be upgraded anytime, should members wish to become registered to lift or coach.
