AWF National Senior Championships
With the rescheduling of the AWF National Senior Championships the QWA Management Committee has approved for this event only that the prerequisite for competing as part of the Queensland team by lifting at the State Senior Championships is not required. However the D Grade qualifying standard is required to be met by the 24th October.
The National Senior Championships are now scheduled for Thursday 9th – Saturday 11th December 2021, in Sydney. The qualifying period has been extended to Sunday 24th October, and entries close on Friday 29th October. Please note Point 16 of the regulations, relating to cancellation, modification and refunds. (16.No REFUNDS of entry fees will be issued after the Preliminary Entry List has been published on the AWF website unless the event is cancelled by the AWF. If government regulations, e.g. lockdown, travel restrictions, affect the event to the extent that it cannot be conducted as a face-to-face competition with all competitors in one location, it will, if possible, be conducted wholly or partially in an online format. If the event proceeds in any format, only those entrants who are prevented from participating by government regulations may receive a refund of their entry fee. All entrants who are not prevented from participating by government regulations will not receive a refund if they choose not to participate.)
The AWF plans to conduct the 2021 National Senior Championships as a face-to-face competition with all participants in one location, however we will be prepared to modify the format of the event and conduct it partially or wholly online if that provides the best possibility of delivering the National Senior Championships while the COVID-19 pandemic persists.
