EOFY…news!

QWA Capitations to the AWF since January 1

QWA State Masters & Oly in the Outback in Miles 2-3 December.

Athletes wishing to compete in the State Masters Championships component of this event are reminded that they need to enter the State Masters Event on the calendar rather than entering via the separate registration for Oly in the Outback. We already have 8 QWA members signed up to compete at the event!!!

Policy

As we continue to refine our new Queensland State Team Staff appointment policy it is pertinent to remind everyone that athletes competing at a National Championships are not eligible to take on coaching roles of any description at that same National Championships.

Calendar

Competition date change – Round 2 of the Physique Science Club Challenge for DBC has now been moved to 28th July. Results of Round 2 for the whole State will not be available till after this date.

Insurance

The AWF insurance policy has been renewed and can be found at: https://www.qwa.org/awf-insurance-schedules-for-2023-24/

Competition Management

Club competitions need to be run with as many TO roles filled as possible in addition to the baseline referees & MC/timekeeper (Marshalls, Technical Controllers, and separate timekeepers). This provides valuable learning opportunities for your members as they progress along their Officiating pathway and also ensures that the competitor has a quality experience that prepares them for higher level competitions.

Please remember that  where you do not have a Technical Controller appointed the Centre referee takes on this role in matters of uniform compliance, calling for cleaning of the bar/platform, decisions in relation to bar loading errors etc.
