The Championships were held at the Rev Barbell Club in Perth on the 8th June with a total of 29 competitors (8 men 21 women) over 3 sessions with 4 of the competitors coming from Qld.
Miles Wydall Head Coach, Scott McIntyre Staff Coach and Manager and Leanne Knox as Ruby Carwardine’s personal Coach supported the Queensland team. The Qld Technical Officials Meg Soroka and Gab Snowdon represented Queensland whilst gaining valuable experience at this National event level.
The competition was well run by WWA and the AWF, the venue is great for holding National Championships with a good warmup room, raised platform stage with a backdrop and curtain surrounds.
Results
Queensland’s one male lifter Charlie Hargreaves lifted very well and won the 102 class with 5/6 125,161 286 total – a PB Clean and Jerk by 9 and Total by 11.
Queensland had 3 female lifters all battling in the very strong 71kg category that had 4 out of the 5 top Sinclair girls of the championships amongst its competitors.
Nya Hayman 5/6 92 (National U20 Record), 108 200 U23 and U20 Champion and Best U20 and U23 female lifter at the event.
