Qld Senior Championships is 1 January 2022- 10 September 2022. The minimum standards for entry in the Qld Senior Championships is AWF National Grading scale I for men and women.
The qualifying period for the Qld Junior & U23 Championships is 1 January 2022 – 18 June 2022. The minimum standard for entry in the Qld Junior & U23 Championships is AWF National Grading scale K for Junior & J for U23 both men and women.

The AWF’s High Performance Squads have been confirmed following the latest six-monthly review period, ending in December 2021.
The program includes five squads and athletes qualify for membership by achieving and maintaining the designated performance standards in competition.

The current squad composition will remain in place until the end of June 2022, when the squad will be reviewed and updated.
To be a member of the AWF Pathway Squad athletes must meet the following criteria:
- athletes must be at least 13 years of age
- must be an Australian citizen
- must attend regular training sessions with an AWF qualified coach
- have achieved at least 90% of AWF G Grade standard
- at time of selection, not already be a member of another AWF High Performance Squad
- will still be classified as a Youth lifter in 2022
The Performance Pathway Squad is made up of no more than 15 lifters and continued membership of the Squad is determined 6 monthly, based on the lifters continuing to attend regular training sessions under the guidance of an AWF qualified coach and continuing to show improvement in their total over that time.
