In 2024 the Australian Sports Commission funded the appointment of an Integrity Officer for the sport of Weightlifting. We are looking forward to having Kelly Loakes (contact details below) available as a resource person and adviser as we all work together to ensure that Social Licence & Clean Lifting are embedded in our sport here in Queensland.
Kelly has created an online complaints and report form for members to use .
The complaint form goes straight to Kelly, and she is the only person who has access to the complaints. ensuring that people can feel certain that each complaint/report will be assessed confidentially.
AWF have adopted the National Integrity Framework (NIF) and all members are bound by it. Members are also bound by the AWF and State policies and therefor any complaints in relation to this will be assessed.
The AWF website will be updated soon to have the link available as well as information in relation to the integrity Framework and the policies which sit within it.
If the Complaint is about Child Safeguarding or Discrimination, you can make the Complaint to Sport Integrity Australia via completing the online form.
If you would prefer to talk to someone at Sport Integrity Australia, assistance is available by calling 1300 027 232.
You will find copies of the child safeguarding policy, the member protection policy and the Complaints, Disputes and Discipline Policy – which outlines how complaints are handled here:
At this time whilst the introduction of the form is relatively new, Kelly will review, triage and assess complaints that come in and then refer them to the state as required. This will help Kelly to support the state in addressing the complaint and assist with this process.
