44 young Queensland weightlifters registered to compete at the 2024 State U12, U15 & Youth Championships at Fraser Coast Weightlifting Club in Pialba last weekend.
We sincerely thank all of you for supporting this event, particularly as it was staged away from the metropolis of Brisbane!! Supporting regional events significantly improves our membership across the whole state and gives the athletes valuable away from home competition experience. Athletes travelled from Smithlea, Miles, Oxenford, Toowoomba, Brisbane, Bribie Island, Sunshine Coast, Gympie & Mackay.

17 of these athletes have now registered to compete at the National U15 & Youth Championships in Hobart in October. With a bit of planning Queensland Bear taken home by Saige Groves may get to be included in the trip. We wish them all the very best with their training for the event. Team Support Personnel applications have now closed, and the appointments will be announced later next week.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who made the event such a success. Thank you FCWC for your amazing hospitality! Thank you Alex Croot for transporting up the competition platform, and in particular for giving up some of his Gympie Muster experience to be on hand to ensure the event ran smoothly. It was fabulous to see so many FCWC members take the opportunity to get TO experience at the competition on home ground.
